Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actress. Following her feature film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan is in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody was invited by a photographer, and began to model. Doody then began to build a career of commercial modelling. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamorous and sexy roles, that was a rule she followed in her acting. In 1985, after receiving notice from the casting directors of a James Bond new film, Doody acted in a tiny part of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was listed within John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3 as one of the 12 promising actors in 1986. 38. Still only 18 when she appeared in the film, Doody was, and still is one of the smallest Bond girl that has ever appeared. Another film from her early days was a small part in a small role as IRA member Siobhan Donovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) which featured Mickey Rourke. Doody played Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 television version of The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. She played Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. She then took on her greatest role in the film Taffin as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazisympathiser The doctor. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. When she moved to Hollywood, Doody became famous. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his girlfriend and agent. After almost a decade away from the screen Doody was back in the acting world with a small role in 2003's British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an award ceremony scene. Doody was a co-star, along together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. in 2010 Doody shot a part in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Then, she appeared in the RTE Medical thriller The Clinic. She was also set to play the lead role in an adaptation in 2011 of the horror classic The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. The actress began her two seasons of The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. The following year, she appeared as Pam Jefferson in We Still Kill the Old Way.
